About Okey Akpom

Okey N.C. Akpom is the founder of THE AKPOM FIRM, P.C.. Akpom attended Tarrant County College, Hurst, Texas where he obtained an Engineering Science diploma. He then attended Texas Wesleyan University, Fort Worth, Texas where he obtained his undergraduate degree, cum laude.

Okey Akpom then obtained his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas in 1999. He was elected the first African-American student body president while at South Texas. He was a constant participant in South Texas' Moot Court and Mock Trial competitions.

Okey Akpom is licensed to practice law by the Texas Supreme Court, the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, and in the Federal Courts of Northern, Southern & Eastern Districts of Texas, including the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Before going to law school, Okey Akpom worked with the City of Arlington Texas engineering department. As a law student, Okey worked as a clerk with the Houston off of Linebarger Goggan P.C.. After Graduating from law school, Okey worked with Rattikin & Rattikin as a TItle Attorney. THE AKPOM FIRM, P.C. was formed in January 2001.

Okey is a member of the Trial Lawyers of America; National Bar Association; J.L. Turner Legal Association; American Bar Association; Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association; Dallas & Tarrant County Bar Associations; Washington D.C. Bar Association; and a member of the legal WHO IS WHO. He is passionate about his client's cases, seeking justice for all one handshake at a time.
